This document covers how Montevideo COMM handles the personal identification information gathered from users when they use the company's websites, mobile applications, products, and services. This does not cover the practices of companies that Montevideo COMM does not own or control, or of people that Montevideo COMM does not employ or hire in a direct way.

Informed Consent
Use and Gathering of Information
Montevideo COMM gathers personal identification information when an account is registered in Montevideo COMM, or when someone takes part in special offers, competitions, giveaways, or any other of the services of Montevideo Portal.

When a user signs up for an account, Montevideo COMM asks for their name, email, company, telephone number, address, city, country, date of birth, and gender, among other personal details. Once they are registered and start to use its services, users are no longer anonymous to Montevideo COMM.

Montevideo COMM also automatically receives and stores in its servers information coming from the user's web browser, such as their IP address, cookies' information, and the pages they requested.

Montevideo COMM uses that gathered information for two main purposes: to satisfy the user's requests for specific services or products, and to contact the user if appropriate (for example, to notify them of new services or products).

Third Parties' Access to Information
Montevideo COMM will not sell nor license users' personal identification information to anyone.
Montevideo COMM may only send a user's personal identification information to other companies or organizations in the following cases:
- When Montevideo COMM has the user's consent to share that information.
- When sharing a user's information is necessary to provide the requested product or service.
- When there is a need to send the information to companies or organizations that work in representation of Montevideo COMM in order to provide the requested product or service. (Unless explicitly stated, these companies or organizations do not have the right to use the information Montevideo COMM provides them, except when it is strictly necessary in order to comply with the requested service.)
- When responding to judicial orders or notices originated from legal proceedings.

IP Addresses
When the user's web browser requests a web page from another computer through the Internet, it automatically provides that other computer with the address where the information is to be sent. This address is called an IP address (IP meaning "Internet Protocol"). For most users that access the Internet using a dial-up internet access from an Internet Service Provider (ISP), the IP address will be different each time they connect.

Use and Gathering of IP Addresses
Montevideo COMM has access to the IP addresses of all its users, since this information is automatically provided by their web browsers each time a web page is requested.

Users' IP addresses can also be stored in Montevideo COMM's user records when they create an account.

These IP addresses can be used for different purposes, including:
- Identifying technical or service issues reported by users or by administrators associated with IP addresses controlled by a specific ISP.
- Selecting which advertisements to display in Montevideo COMM's webpages according to the geographical area or any other information gathered from a user's IP address. Most IP addresses are generally associated with ISPs, universities, or big companies in specific locations or regions.
- Estimating the total number of visitors Montevideo COMM receives from specific countries or regions.

Cookies
Cookies are small amounts of data that usually include an anonymous unique identifier and that are sent to the user's web browser from a web server and then stored in the user's computer.

All websites can send their own cookies to a user's browser if the user allows it, but (in order to protect their privacy) the browser only lets a website read the cookies it has sent, and not the ones that have been sent by other websites.

Options Regarding Cookies
Browsers can be set to either accept all cookies, reject all cookies, or to ask the user what to do each time (all browsers are different, go to your browser's help section to learn how to adjust your settings.)

If a user decides to reject all cookies, they will not be able to access those Montevideo COMM products or services that require users to log in with a username and a password. However, it may be possible to access other Montevideo COMM services or products using browsers that do not accept cookies.

Montevideo COMM Practices Regarding Cookies
Montevideo COMM uses its own cookies for different purposes. Said purposes include:
Accessing information when a user enters the system so as to provide customized content.

Keeping a record of the preferences stated by the client during their use of Montevideo COMM services.

Selecting advertisements according to users' geographic or demographic details, their interests and their own activity within Montevideo COMM.

Estimating and reporting the quantity and traffic of Montevideo COMM's user base.

Carrying out research aimed at improving Montevideo COMM's content and services.

Asking a user to re-enter their password after a certain time has elapsed to prevent third parties from accidentally gaining access to the user's Montevideo COMM account.

A user can request the deletion of their account by contacting borrado@montevideo.com.uy
